Please be present at least 15 minutes before the exam time indicated next to your student number, with your student ID card or Turkish ID card, in front of the computer laboratory located on the ground floor of the School of Foreign Languages.

In Phase 1 of the Placement and Exemption Exam (STMS), students will be asked online questions in the areas of listening, grammar, reading, and vocabulary. Students will start from the lowest module in the relevant language, and depending on their performance during the exam, tests from higher modules will be opened. Students who are successful in Phase 1 will be announced on our website and will take the Phase 2 (writing) and Phase 3 (speaking) exams between September 17–19, 2025.

Students whose information is not included in the list must urgently contact the School of Foreign Languages via the Institutional WhatsApp line at (+90 346 487 49 00).

Note 1: All students of the Translation and Interpreting Department (both new and current) have been registered for both English and French sessions. However, students who are exempt from a language or who were successful in previous years do not need to take the exam in that language, even if their names appear on the list.

Note 2: Students in compulsory preparatory classes, as well as those who studied in preparatory classes in previous years, may choose not to take the Placement and Exemption Exam. If they take it and their exam level is high, they will continue according to the exam results; if their exam level is low, they will continue their education at the same level as the previous year.
